Developed from JTBD & the Full Problem Perspective
Define is inspired by the Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) framework and a distilled pattern called the Full Problem Perspective. For each stakeholder, outline:
- Stakeholder — Who is affected? Give a short description so the team pictures the same person.
- Job To Be Done — What outcome are they trying to achieve (independent of any solution)? Phrase it as a goal.
- Obstacle — What blocks progress today? Technical, process, knowledge, policy—be specific.
- Hypothesis — Your proposed way to overcome the obstacle. Keep it testable and scoped.
- Metrics — Signals that would show the hypothesis worked (leading + lagging indicators).
